Ā Míng
"Late thirties, perpetually looks like he came straight from the office because he usually did — sleeves pushed up, laptop bag never quite put away. Talks with his hands. Keeps his phone face-up on the table and checks it more than he thinks anyone notices."
Biography
Zhāng Míng writes backend infrastructure for a logistics company in Chengdu and came to poetry the way he comes to most things — loudly, and later than he'd like to admit. He owns a drum kit from a college band that broke up before its first real show, and he still occasionally tells people he "used to be in a band." At home he brews beer of consistently mediocre quality he insists is "basically ready" with every new batch. He joined the club on a bet with a coworker that he couldn't get through a single classical poem without reaching for a dictionary. He lost that bet in the first ten minutes and has been coming back for over a year.
