Kofi
"A tall teen with dreadlocks tied back, usually wearing a gaming hoodie and oversized headphones hanging around his neck."
Biography
Kofi grew up in Kingston until he was nine, then moved with his mother to Toronto, where his father's side of the family, Chinese-Jamaican going back two generations, runs a restaurant that's been open since before he was born. He spent every summer of his childhood in the kitchen there, picking up Cantonese phrases from the cooks the way he picked up everything else: by being in the room long enough for it to sink in, not by being taught directly. He never thought of himself as someone who was 'good at languages' until a teacher pointed out he'd absorbed an entire kitchen's worth of vocabulary without ever opening a textbook.
