Sū Yǔ
"Early thirties, hair usually pinned up with whatever's on hand — a pencil more than once. Dresses like someone who thinks about color theory for a living, which she does. Keeps her phone within reach and her eyes a little too bright during a good reading."
Biography
Sū Yǔ designs packaging for a mid-sized tea company in Hangzhou, which means she has strong, specific opinions about paper stock that nobody asks for. She cries more easily than she'd like — at commercials, at songs, occasionally at a well-placed pause in conversation — and has mostly made peace with it. She's kept a running note on her phone titled "lines that got me" since long before she joined the club: quotes from shows, songs, overheard conversations, anything that landed. Her desk plant, a scraggly pothos, is named after a side character from a drama she'll deny watching. She joined the club after a friend forwarded her a single poem with no context, and she wanted to know why it had wrecked her whole afternoon.
