Biography

Originally from inland Sichuan, Kai moved to the coast a decade ago to pursue a film degree but found himself far more interested in the tactile reality of camera gear than abstract cinema theory. He operates as the Chen family's dedicated videographer and honorary uncle, bringing an easygoing, unflappable energy to shoots that inevitably go off script. While his personal life is notoriously laid-back, his gear room is a shrine to obsessive perfectionism, where every lens, cable, and battery is tracked with military precision to ensure he never misses 'the shot.'
